Creativity and Imagination

The Arts provides students the opportunity to express themselves in creative and skilful ways. They learn techniques and methods to portray their work using a variety of mediums or performances. At the Islamic College of Melbourne, The Arts is integrated within the various learning areas. In addition to being offered as a unit of work in Term Four, for year’s prep to six.

Drama is offered to our secondary and year six students. Students learn to act various situations by understanding roles and responding to roles. They explore symbolic meanings of storytelling in drama. Ideas, feelings and cultural contexts are explored and expressed. Students build confidence in performing to an audience, through skill practice and rehearsals.

“Drama has improved my acting skills; it has boosted my self-confidence and has allowed me to interact with my classmates more freely”.
