Primary Girls Iftar

The Islamic College of Melbourne hosted an Iftar night that proved to be a great success. The evening was filled with fun, laughter and spirituality. The evening was kicked off with students navigating their way around the school in an ‘amazing race’ style where each station had to be completed to figure out the clue to their next destination.

Clues were gathered until the puzzle was solved. Teams went head to head in a knuckle-biting Kahootz quiz which combined the knowledge of all significant domain areas such as Science, Art and Islamic studies. The hearts were moved through an epic Islamic reminder delivered by the Vice Principal, Dr Eid. His insightful speech provided students with a chance to reflect on their actions and ended with a glimmer of hope that we all hold onto while taking the spiritual path down the rocky road of life.

Once again the college proved that coming together places blessings between us as our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: “Eat together, for the blessing is in Jamma’a (congregation or being together)…” Bukhari.

Ramadan at ICOM!

With this still fresh in our minds, both students and staff alike were able to take a mindful approach to the Maghrib congregational prayer.
Students and staff ended the night with a selection of mouth-watering foods and desserts.

Ramadan is a time of spiritual reflection, self-improvement, and heightened devotion and worship.
This is also time for the student body to come together and celebrate this holy month.
