ILEAD: Diploma of Islamic Leadership (22628VIC)

Diploma of Islamic Leadership (ILEAD)

From Year 10, students at the Islamic College of Melbourne can enrol in the 22628VIC Diploma of Islamic Leadership (ILEAD), an exclusive three-year secondary pathway delivered alongside the VCE. Students graduate in Year 12 with both their VCE certificate and a nationally recognised Diploma, equipped to serve their communities with knowledge, faith, and leadership.

Developed over more than two years in consultation with community leaders and organisations, ILEAD is designed to meet the needs of the Australian Muslim community. The program prepares students to guide individuals and communities in matters of faith, while learning to thoughtfully navigate Islamic beliefs and practice within contemporary Australian society.

Students complete the Diploma while continuing their VCE studies in a dedicated ILEAD learning environment. This integrated model supports strong academic outcomes while providing advanced training in Islamic knowledge, leadership, and the responsible teaching of Islamic texts and resources.

ILEAD develops strong Islamic character, ethical leadership, and a commitment to service. Students learn to lead religious observances and Islamic practices, provide faith-based pastoral care, and offer informed guidance and support to individuals and communities with confidence and integrity.

Graduates are equipped to design and deliver community development initiatives, provide informed advice on Muslim matters to the wider community, and pursue further study or future pathways in religious and community leadership, including roles as Imams, religious educators, and Muslim chaplains.

The Diploma of Islamic Leadership is an accredited Level 5 qualification under the Australian Qualifications Framework and is recognised by the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority. Islamic College of Melbourne is an approved Registered Training Organisation for this program.
