SENIOR PATHWAY SPOTLIGHT

Diploma of Islamic Leadership

Starting from Year 10, students at Islamic College of Melbourne can undertake our exclusive ILEAD Diploma (22628VIC Diploma of Islamic Leadership) alongside their VCE studies.

Developed in collaboration with community leaders and organisations, the program is designed to meet the needs of the Australian Muslim community while preparing students for service grounded in knowledge, faith and leadership.

Students graduate with both their VCE and a nationally recognised Level 5 qualification, delivered within a dedicated learning environment that supports academic success alongside advanced Islamic studies.

Graduates are equipped for pathways in religious and community leadership, including roles such as Imams, Islamic educators, Muslim chaplains and community leaders.

Secondary Academic Pathways

Discover three senior secondary pathways designed to support different strengths, learning styles and future aspirations. Explore VCE, the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP), and the VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM).

IB® Diploma Programme

The International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme is a rigorous, internationally recognised pathway for academically capable students. It develops critical thinking, independent research and a broad understanding across disciplines while preparing students for university study in Australia or overseas.

Mainstream VCE

The Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) provides a broad academic pathway towards university and further study. Students choose from a range of subjects, receive ongoing academic guidance and may begin selected Unit 1 and 2 subjects in Year 10.

VCE VM

The VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM) combines applied classroom learning with VET, workplace experience and practical skill development. It prepares students for apprenticeships, traineeships, TAFE, employment and further vocational study.

World Cup Day

We celebrated World Cup Day by bringing our Primary and Secondary students together through football. Wearing jerseys from nations and clubs around the world, students enjoyed World Cup-inspired activities that celebrated the global game, cultural diversity and the spirit of international competition.

Year 6 Anthologies

We unveiled our Year 6 Anthology Booklets during Primary Literacy Week, giving students a first look at the original stories and illustrations they created alongside author Sarah Speedie. Each anthology becomes a treasured keepsake, presented to students as part of their Year 6 graduation.

Foundation Testing

We welcomed more than 400 prospective Foundation students and their families for our 2027 Foundation Testing sessions. Through small-group and one-on-one activities, our staff assessed school readiness while getting to know each child and their individual learning needs ahead of their educational journey with us, insha'Allah.
