A Message from
the College Principal

At Islamic College of Melbourne, we believe that when faith shapes character and knowledge inspires growth, success follows, Insha’Allah.

“Our responsibility at ICOM is not only to educate minds, but to nurture young people of strong Islamic character, compassion and purpose, empowering them to lead with confidence, integrity and a sincere commitment to serving their communities for the sake of Allah (SWT), while developing into well informed Australian citizens who are confident and grounded in their Islamic faith.”

One of my greatest responsibilities as Principal is to ensure that every student at Islamic College of Melbourne is known, supported and encouraged to achieve their potential.

Our college aims to educate and encourage our children to grow into young men and women who strive for excellence in all aspects of life, including their Islamic education, values and character. Insha’Allah, this will help them attain success in both this world and the next.

I firmly believe that every child has strengths that deserve to be recognised and developed. For this reason, Islamic College of Melbourne is proud to offer a diverse range of student pathways designed to support learners of all capabilities, interests and aspirations.

Whether a student’s strengths lie in academics, athletics, leadership, creativity, Islamic studies, or vocational pathways, including trades and hands-on careers, our commitment is to nurture each child’s unique potential and provide opportunities for them to grow, succeed and positively contribute to their community, Insha’Allah.

The Islamic College of Melbourne has a strong sense of community, and I am committed to maintaining and strengthening this for future generations of students, families and staff.

We are equally committed to attracting and supporting exceptional staff who share our vision and values. By investing in quality facilities, professional environments and a culture of respect and wellbeing, we aim to ensure our teachers and staff feel valued, supported and empowered to deliver the highest standard of education and care for our students.

Our highly qualified teachers are passionate and enthusiastic educators who inspire students to achieve outstanding results academically, as well as across sporting, cultural, environmental and leadership programs.

I ask Allah (SWT) to guide me in fulfilling the responsibility entrusted to me as Principal, and I dedicate my time, energy, passion, relationships and experience towards the continued development of Islamic College of Melbourne and the wellbeing of its students and staff.

I warmly welcome you to visit our college and discover the values, opportunities and strong sense of community that make Islamic College of Melbourne a place where students and staff are empowered to thrive.

Principal's View: College Values

On Faith

Faith is woven throughout every aspect of life at Islamic College of Melbourne, shaping both the educational experience and the culture of the College. Alongside a strong mainstream curriculum, students engage in Islamic Studies, Quran and Arabic Language programs that deepen their understanding of Islam and strengthen their connection to faith. As the language of the Quran, Arabic plays an important role in supporting access to Islamic knowledge. Beyond the classroom, Islamic values are reflected through daily practices, community life and architecture inspired by the rich traditions of Islamic civilisation. This commitment is further strengthened through initiatives such as the Diploma of Islamic Leadership, which develops leadership grounded in faith, character and service.

On Knowledge

Every student deserves the opportunity to pursue a future aligned with their aspirations, interests and potential. Whether that pathway leads to medicine, law, engineering, teaching, business, the trades or further academic study, success begins with a strong foundation of knowledge and learning. Through high expectations, targeted support, differentiated pathways and ongoing academic monitoring, the College is committed to helping every student achieve their personal best. By investing in quality teaching, resources and student growth, we equip learners with the knowledge, skills and results needed to access higher education, meaningful careers and lifelong opportunities.

On Success

True success is the natural outcome of a life built upon faith and knowledge. It is not viewed as a destination in itself, but as the result of a purposeful educational journey guided by strong values and academic excellence. Students who develop both a confident Islamic identity and a commitment to learning are well prepared for higher education, future careers and community leadership. Success is measured not only by academic achievement and professional opportunity, but also by character, contribution and living a life of purpose. Through the integration of faith and knowledge, the College seeks to graduate young people who are confident, capable and guided by principles that benefit them in this life and the next.

College Philosophy

At the Islamic College of Melbourne, we are committed to providing a nurturing Islamic environment in which every student is encouraged and empowered to achieve their full potential spiritually, academically, socially, emotionally and creatively.

We believe education is a partnership between students, families, staff and the wider community, founded on mutual respect, compassion, integrity and cooperation. Through strong relationships and high expectations, we aim to develop confident, responsible and resilient young people who embody Islamic values and contribute positively to Australian society and the global community.

Our programs and learning experiences are designed to inspire a lifelong love of learning, critical thinking, personal excellence and service to others, preparing students to thrive in an ever-changing world with renewed faith, bold character and true purpose.
